With a background in music and Fine Arts, Adriana Sá is a trans-disciplinary artist, performer composer-improviser. She has been developing and presenting her work around Europe, USA and Japan since '98.
Designing and building the instrumentation is part of Sa's creative process. Using digital and analogue, and often architecturally-scaled instruments she explored certain musical plasticity connected to light, movement, architecture, weather and context in general. Currently, she is particularly interested in exploring how the audiovisual may potentiate rather than obfuscate art music experience.
Performance means to Adriana a personal exposure within the game between the control over what is happening and the acceptance-integration of the unexpected. Her graphical scores choreograph texture, density, dominance and sequence variations rather than clock-time or note arrangements. Working with sound provocatively, Sá is playfull with the transitions between different psychic-physic states.
In collaboration, Adriana emphasizes individual modes and sensibilities as raw material for experiments and discussions on further artistic hybridization possibilities.
